HILL, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A car chase in Hill, New Hampshire ended in an arrest Saturday afternoon, police said.
New Hampshire State Police said the driver, John Carter, 36, of Hill, was being stopped for speeding in a 50 MPH zone at around 4:17 p.m. when he did a "burnout" across the roadway and accelerated away.
The State Police Trooper pursued Carter in his 1985 Chevrolet K10 pick-up truck on multiple roads throughout Hill until the truck drove into a snowbank on Old Town Road.
According to authorities, Carter fled the vehicle and after a brief foot pursuit was taken into custody at the scene.
Carter has been charged with the following:
- Operating after Certification as Habitual Offender
- Reckless Conduct with a Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Drug
- Deal/Possession of Prescription Drugs
- Resisting Arrest/Detention
- Reckless Operation
- Disobeying a Police Officer
- Unregistered Vehicle
