FOXBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A New Hampshire man is suing the Patriots Hall of Fame, accusing it of ruining his Tom Brady-autographed American flag. Daniel Vitale of Hampstead, New Hampshire said in a federal lawsuit that he bought the flag as an investment in 2020.

The flag was flown at the last Patriots regular season home game at Foxboro Stadium on December 22, 2001. Vitale said he lent the flag to the Patriots Hall of Fame in June 2021, with the understanding that it would be displayed and stored in museum conditions.

The flag was stored in a museum case at the Patriots Hall of Fame, but Vitale said the flag was not stored properly, leading to damage that he calls "extensive and irreparable."

The lawsuit said the damage to the flag could total $1 million.

WBZ NewsRadio reached out to the Patriots, who said they were unlikely to comment.
