NH Motorcyclist Dies In Worcester Crash On I-290

WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A motorcyclist died after a crash on I-290 on Saturday.

Around 1:40 p.m. on Saturday, Massachusetts State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-290 in Worcester.

State Police said that preliminary investigations suggested a 2020 Honda CRV was traveling in the left lane when it came into contact with a Harley Davidson.

The motorcyclist — Robert Petterson of Farmington, New Hampshire — was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead. He was 56.

The driver of the CRV was not injured.

Two lanes on I-290 westbound were closed for almost an hour after the crash.

The incident is under investigation by State Police and the Worcester County District Attorney's Office, and officials have not said anything about charges being filed yet.
