CONCORD, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The minds of New Hampshire voters do not seem to be swayed either way after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
New Hampshire only contributes four electoral college votes toward the presidential election, but the swing state is always a key target for both Democrats and Republicans. While many of the results come down to the wire, New Hampshire has gone to the Democrats in every presidential election since 2004.
Many people in the Granite State believe the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump will sway voters who are on the fence between the two candidates.
“It does make him stand out. It makes him a [really] strong candidate and a strong consideration. He just stood strong and stood tall for America. I think it will persuade a lot of voters,” said one person.
“It will sway people, I think. [It makes him] more sympathetic,” said another person.
WBZ NewsRadio’s Shari Small asked voters if it swayed their own decision. Despite the speculation towards undecided voters, the assassination attempt did not affect those who had already made up their minds.
“No. I’m voting for Trump, but reluctantly. I’m in the camp of people who would have preferred a different candidate, but I’m going to vote Republican rather than for Joe Biden,” said one man.
“No, not at all,” said one woman planning to vote for President Biden.
“It didn’t have any effect either way on me, so I’m not sure how other people will feel,” said another woman planning to vote for President Biden.
