NORTH CONWAY, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A woman in New Hampshire was one of at least eight people killed by Tropical Storm Isaias on Tuesday evening as it rolled up the east coast.
At around 7:15 p.m., after Isaias had brought heavy winds to New England, North Conway police responded to a call from a resident trapped in a basement apartment due to a fallen tree.
While the resident was safely rescued from the basement, first responders discovered a 60-year-old woman dead on the 2nd floor, where the tree had fallen.
According to WBZ-TV, the victim's identity is being withheld until the family is notified, and there will be an autopsy performed to determine the exact cause of death.
