FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Another grim milestone for the Patriots as the memories of Super Bowls seem farther and farther away.
For the first time since 2000, no Patriots players are heading to the Pro Bowl. This is also the only time in Belichick’s tenure as head coach that the team didn’t have any Pro Bowl players, besides his first season at the helm.
WBZ’s Chris Fama Spoke to Patriots fans about the lack of Pro Bowlers and the abrupt end to the dynasty.
“The fact that the Patriots are where they are, it’s just heartbreaking. It’s terrible,” said one fan.
“It’s an embarrassment, to say the least,” said another fan.
A big question heading into the final week of the season is Belichick’s future with the team. Some fans hope he can bring them out of the gutter next season, while others hope he is no longer the coach.
“If Belichick doesn’t come back, we’re really doomed. I really hope he comes back,” said one fan.
“He’s losing it, he’s done,” said another fan.
The Patriots play their final game of the season on Sunday, Jan. 7. Kick-off is set for 1:00 P.M. against the New York Jets.
