BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The countdown to Halloween is on.
Halloween falls on a Friday this year, so the possibilities are endless. Whether that's going door to door for sweet treats or heading out to clubs or bars, Bay Staters are preparing their best costumes.
"Classic ones too, yeah, Frankenstein, let's do that, you know. Let's put some bolts in the neck," one resident said.
While tariffs have impacted the cost of chocolate in the U.S., parents say they still have enough candy for trick or treaters.
"I have candy and I'm going to give it out to the little kids and we normally have a block party," another resident said.
Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics also show gum and candy prices have climbed 38% in the past five years. Yet, the National Retail Federation predicts Americans will spend nearly $4 billion on Halloween candy this year.

"We like to have a variety so we got chocolate candy and like fruity candy so the kids can pick what they want," one local said.

"I ask questions. Who are you today," another local said.
While some will be celebrating, others like Jay will be serving.
"I'm a bartender, bro. I'm going to have the best summer of my life. You get all the chaos, you get all the fun and just good vibes. And, you know, a little bit of crazy."
