BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A powerful September nor’easter is slamming Massachusetts with high winds and rainfall, bringing power outages, flight cancellations and flooding along the coast.
The storm barreled toward New England Friday night, with conditions expected to continue into the week. On-and-off rain is said to continue Monday and Tuesday according to the National Weather Service.
A flood warning remains in effect along Coastal Massachusetts through Sunday. Parts of Massachusetts are still experiencing wind gusts up to 60 miles an hour.
As of Sunday morning, 7,378 people are without power across Massachusetts.
Boston Logan International Airport has cancelled 299 flights, with most of those coming from Delta Air Lines and Cape Air. Some 280 delays have been reported on FlightAware as of Sunday morning.
