North End Restaurants Open For Sidewalk Dining

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Mayor Marty Walsh has pledged his dedication to getting restaurants set up to reopen safely with outdoor seating.

"We are committed to working with everyone who is impacted, and with your help, making sure outdoor dining is good for our city," Walsh said.

Restaurants in Boston's North End have seen changes already, such as sidewalks that have been converted into dining rooms and parking spaces that now serve as areas for guests.

"This has been like a godsend, I love it," one restauranteur said.

Social distancing requirements to reopen include a limit on the number of guests and maintaining distance between tables.

Hours of operation have been impacted as well, diners must vacate by 10:30 p.m. on weeknights and 11:30 p.m. on Sundays.
