LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Clients at the North Shore Animal Hospital in Lynn will have to take their pets for care elsewhere as the facility has announced it is closing its doors out of elongated staffing shortages and building maintenance issues.
According to a Facebook post from the NSAH, it was several factors that brought about this decision. First, the facility has dealt with a number of maintenance problems, such as basement sewer backups, for the last six months.
"Issues like these have hindered not only our ability to provide a safe and clean environment for our employees, but also our ability to recruit veterinarians during a time of unprecedented staff shortages in our field," a spokesperson for the NSAH said.

Those staffing shortages are another cause for the facility's closure, as officials say they are unable to provide high quality veterinary care because of their lack of employees.
NSAH went on to apologize to its customers for the short notice of its closure, and offered alternative locations that could supplement care. According to the animal hospital, the following regional locations are open to taking on new patients:
