LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Dozens of families on the north shore received donations of fresh cuts of meat and gift cards for Mother's Day weekend, thanks to a local food distribution company.
According to the Lynn Item, on Saturday morning Bossman’s B&B Trading Company pulled up one of their trucks to the entrance of the Boys & Girls Club on Franklin Street in Lynn, where volunteers unloaded and repackaged the bulk meat into individual packages.
The Lynn Item says each family received "four whole chickens, four packages of chicken leg quarters, five pounds of fresh ground beef, a Dunkin’ Donuts gift card and a gift card to a local restaurant."
The care packages went to 80 families who attend the Boys & Girls Club of Lynn, who either lost jobs or took in unemployed relatives during the pandemic.
Bossman's B&B also dropped bulk meat deliveries to the YMCA, Salvation Army, and Lynn Economic Opportunity for future distribution.
