LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – As the October Nor’easter continues to hit the Bay State, some residents on the north shore are deciding to face the elements head on.

A surfer was getting ready to hit the waves of King Beach Wednesday morning in Lynn. At the moment, he said it was his best chance to take advantage of the current weather conditions.

“This is the most protected from the wind so far,” the surfer said. “So it looks like it’s our safest bet to get some waves from the storm right now.”

While the water was not the biggest concern on his mind, the surfer said there was another element of which to be mindful.

“The wind’s definitely the main caution,” he said. “The waves don’t look too bad right now so [I’m] not too worried.”
