NORWOOD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Just in time for National Brownie Day, a Norwood-based company has created what's believed to be the world's largest pot brownie — or largest brownie, period.

MariMed, a multi-state cannabis company headquartered in Norwood, made the huge creation in an effort to promote its new line of edibles, "Bubbie's Baked." The massive creation weighs 850 pounds, and stretches three feet by three feet, and contains 20,000 milligrams of THC. MariMed's creation smashes the Guinness World Record for the largest brownie ever made, which weighed in at 243 pounds.

Unfortunately, MariMed Chief Product Officer Ryan Crandall said Guinness isn't taking any more cannabis-themed records right now.

"We hope we're at the top of that list when they're ready to," he said. Crandall said the industry is missing quality edibles, which is a niche MariMed wants to fill.

"Everything's infused and people are rushing to make a dollar, but they're really not rushing to create a great product," he said.
