BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Tuesday, July 14 and Wednesday, July 16 as temperatures near triple digits. It will be in effect from 11 a.m. Tuesday to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Heat indices are expected to be between 95 and 103 degrees, according to NWS. The Heat Advisory is for all of Massachusetts except the Berkshires, the Cape and Islands.

The City of Boston urged caution on Monday, ahead of the hot temperatures.

"As we face another heat wave, our primary focus is keeping every member of our community safe," Boston Chief of Emergency Preparedness Adrian Jordan said. "We continue to ask residents to not only look out for themselves but to check in on neighbors, elderly family members, and pets who may be highly vulnerable to these high temperatures."

The city said residents can cool off at Boston Centers for Youth and Families community centers, Boston Public Library branches, and at pools and splash pads throughout the city.

Boston city officials are encouraging residents to stay hydrated, and to keep cool by using fans or air conditioning, sitting in the shade, and taking cool showers. They also urged everyone to watch out for symptoms of heat exhaustion, which can include nausea, dizziness, heavy sweating, cool and clammy skin, and muscle aches.
