GRAFTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A horrific smell was floating through the towns of Grafton and Millbury in November, and it was so bad that residents were prompted to call the police. After a search, the source of the smell was identified as the Feedback Earth, Inc. factory, specifically the stench was the vapors from dried out tofu waste coming out from the plant's emissions stack.
Feedback Earth wrote on their website that they specialize in turning discarded food into animal feed. In this case, it was the industrial drier that was the culprit of the smell by turning tofu into pellets.

But luckily, a solution has been found for clearing out the odor, said Feedback Earth's CEO Alison Greenlee. "We have since installed a deodorizing system that sprays a very natural deodorizer into the exhaust stream, it decomposes the odor before it gets released into the atmosphere," Greenlee said.
