Officials Investigating Reports Of Hate Incidents At CT Amazon Facility

WINDSOR, Conn. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Construction has come to a halt at a new Amazon site in Windsor, Connecticut after reports of potential hate incidents at the facility.

It comes after a seventh noose was found hanging over a beam at the site -- along with other reported messages of hate.

"This site has been shut down, and we are glad this site has been shut down," Scot Esdaile, the President of the Connecticut NAACP said. "Whoever these individuals are we must push them back, they're not going to push us back, we will push them back."

Windsor Police said they are investigating the incidents are potential hate crimes, and they have called in Connecticut State Police and the FBI to help with the investigation.

Amazon said the site will be closed until Monday.

Officials are currently offering $100,000 for any information that helps identify a suspect or suspects connected to the incidents.
