On The Market: A Burned Out House In Melrose For Sale “As Is” For $399,000

MELROSE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – A ridiculously expensive house in Massachusetts is on the market in Melrose that was seriously damaged by a fire in August.

The three-bedroom, 1.5 bath home located on Berkeley Street is currently for sale at $399,000.

The front of the house was entirely scorched, and the windows are boarded up after being reportedly blown out by the fire. Firefighters had to rip out the walls and ceilings inside the home to put out the fire, according to the Boston Globe.

The single-family home is listed on multiple real estate websites and brings attention to the fire that damaged its façade.

A listing on Realtor.com started by saying “attention contractors” and that the house was in need of “a complete renovation or potential tear down and rebuild.” It also said the house is being sold “as is.”

The house is still less than the average price for a single-family home in Massachusetts. The Warren Group found that the median price for these homes was $535,000 in August.
