BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Thousands of walkers traverse the streets of Boston every day -- including one man who just completed a mission to visit them all.
Alex Cox is a graduate student at Harvard University -- who recently reached his goal of walking every single street in the city, or over 900 miles in total.
"Over the weekend I walked the last [street] in Boston that I had yet to reach," Cox said. "So I have now visited [every street] by foot or by bike."
Cox made headlines back in 2017 when he visited every MBTA station in about 7.5 hours -- which beat the MBTA world record.
"I've also visited every street in Cambridge and Somerville, but Boston was the big one," he said.
Cox said the goal to walk every Boston street took a couple years, but his plan especially accelerated during quarantine and the Covid-19 pandemic over the last year.
When asked where he's off to next, Cox said maybe Everett or Medford.
