BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Police say a man is dead after a shooting at a Dorchester barbershop. Police first got the call reporting the shooting at about 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday night and responded to Celebrity Cut barbers at 145 Washington Street in Dorchester.
Police said they found a man suffering from a serious gunshot wound, who was then pronounced dead on the scene.
Witnesses at the scene told WBZ-TV that the man killed was a barber who was working on clients at the time he was shot.
"The fact that this took place inside a barbershop, a hub for the community that is supposed to be a safe space for everyone to come and feel and look their best, makes us all the more devastated," said Boston Mayor Michelle Wu at a press conference.
This is this the city's fourth fatal shooting in less than a week.
