BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Families gathered on a warm sunny Friday to ride the now reopened carousel in Boston's Rose Kennedy Greenway.
The musical carousel in the heart of downtown Boston lets people of all ages ride on hand-carved animal characters such as the peregrine falcon, the mythical sea serpent, and the green sea turtle.
"This is our children's first ride, and I have never ridden on the carousel before," said Ryan from Connecticut, who was at the Greenway with his wife Jacqueline and two young daughters. "We walked by earlier, it was closed, and on the way back it was open, so they were very excited to see that it was open."
"I do remember a carousel being a part of my childhood that I'll never forget," Jacqueline said.
The carousel is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Single ride tickets cost $4. Group rate tickets for groups of 10 or more are available for $3.
