BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Boston Red Sox brought Fenway Park to the Hatch Shell for the 10th annual Out of the Park event Sunday.

The free event let hundreds of people camp out on the Esplanade to watch the Sox play the Cincinnati Reds on a giant video screen.

"My sister, I’m a big Red Sox fan, she goes, 'I’m gonna bring Billie to the game for free,'" laughed Billie, who came up from Cape Cod with her sister Lydia.

"I said, 'I have a surprise for you, just bring a lawn chair,'" said Lydia.

Sox fans chowed down on plenty of free food from The Sausage Guy, Minute Man Kettle Corn, and Dylan & Pete's Ice Cream, but could also keep busy with other activities besides watching the game.

"We have a batting cage for kids to hit in, we have some pitching accuracy, a mock Green Monster wall to take some photos in front of," said Kendall Ely, Senior Coordinator of Experimental Marketing for the Red Sox. "We have some face painters, because what’s a Red Sox event without face painting."

"I made sure I came an hour early to get fed first, and now I’m gonna get my little red painted on my face with the Red Sox symbol," said Jason. "I’m 44, but I’m a big kid inside."

The Red Sox defeated the Reds 7-4.
