Pair Arrested In Dorchester On Firearm Charges

DORCHESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston police arrested an adult female and juvenile male Wednesday after responding to a call for shots fired in the area of 621 Dudley St. in Dorchester.

Police said upon arrival, officers canvassed the area, which includes Mary Hannon Playground, and found ballistic evidence inside the playground and ballistic damage to 8 Folsom St. Officers also retrieved surveillance footage of a motor vehicle speeding away from the scene.

Officers located the vehicle in the area of 88 Park St. and placed the two suspects under arrest after recovering a loaded firearm from inside the vehicle. The firearm was determined to be a Glock 23 with one round in the chamber and 22 rounds in the magazine.

Daijah Myers, 18, of Dorchester has been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm with altered serial number and Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License.

An unnamed 17-year-old male from Braintree has been charged with Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Delinquent to wit; Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Delinquent to wit; Possession of Ammunition.

Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
