BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Dogs have a new place in the City of Boston.
Park-9 Dog Bar in Everett, Mass. has opened a seasonal pop-up downtown where dogs can play while owners enjoy a beverage or two. Park-9 Dog Bar @ The Station in the Fenway neighborhood includes 4,000 sq. ft. of space for dogs to play off-leash, a beer garden, and lawn games.
Park-9 owners Emily Gusse and Tess Kohanski were excited to hold a grand 'unleashing' in the new space on Thursday.
“[It] allows folks to get out of their homes, let their dogs run around in the city and enjoy it with a drink in hand,” said Emily.
To help cool off in the dog days of summer, they've taken a 'water forward' approach, providing a splash pad and pool for the canines. As for the humans, there are both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase, as well as food from the Mi Corazon Taqueria food truck.
Human entry is always free, whether you have a dog or not, but it costs $10 per dog for a day pass to the park. Those interested can also purchase monthly or annual Park-9 dog memberships.
The pop-up is running through October, open Wednesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
