SHERBORN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A church in Sherborn has created a simple but heartbreaking memorial display to remember the lives lost in the Parkland, Florida school shooting on the one-year anniversary of the tragedy.

Seventeen empty desks sit on the lawn of the Unitarian Universalist Church on Washington Street. Each chair bears the name of one of the seventeen killed in the shooting.

"In an era of short news cycles, when tragedy of this magnitude gets pushed off the front page by the next disaster or presidential tweet, we resist becoming numb to mass shootings and gun violence," the church wrote on their Facebook page.
