FOXBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The New England Patriots gave fans the chance on Monday, for a Covid vaccine and a photo to remember.
At six vaccination sites, including Gillette Stadium, the Hynes Convention Center, the Reggie Lewis Center, Springfield, Danvers, and Dartmouth fans could get a picture with the Lombardi trophy after they got their shot.
"We were trying to look at opportunities to reduce hesitancy and to get people to take their shot," said Jim Nolan, chief operating officer for Kraft Sports and Entertainment.
He added, people want to get back to normal and said, the more people that get the shot, the quicker that can happen.
"What better way than to take six of our Lombardi trophies, and bring them to six mass vaccination sites," said Nolan.
Not too many NFL teams have six of these trophies to go around and Nolan added they're happy to give fans this opportunity.
He said, during the event, people could walk in and get their Covid shot and then get a shot with the trophy. The photo-op making this a day to remember for many people.
Tom Brady helped the Patriots to win all those trophies and he will be back at Gillette this season, when the Patriots take on the Buccaneers during week 4.
Walk-in vaccinations are now being offered at all six of those locations, as well as many others in Massachusetts.
