FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The New England Patriots have finally returned to the win column, but not without an injury to rookie quarterback Drake Maye.
After six straight losses, the Patriots beat the New York Jets 25-22 at Gillette Stadium on Sunday afternoon. This was the first time the Patriots have won at home since beating the Buffalo Bills last season on Oct. 22, 2023.
When asked at the postgame press conference about calling the team "soft" after their last game, head coach Jerod Mayo praised the team for their resiliency.
“We have a room full of guys with the mentality that you got to change the page every day,” said Mayo. "Every day is a new day."
While many Patriots fans were disappointed to see Maye suffer a concussion early in the game, most were still happy to see the team pull off the comeback.
“All we have is time. We just have to have faith and believe,” said one fan.
“Well, we’ll give [them] a chance,” said another fan.
Other fans are still struggling to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
“I don’t think they’re going to be good for another two years, maybe three,” said one fan.
