CLEVELAND, Ohio (WBZ NewsRadio) — Yet again, Patriots nation is in for a taste of Zappe Hour. Pats quarterback Mac Jones was designated out with an ankle injury for Sunday's Week 6 matchup with the Cleveland Browns, leaving the door open for rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe to get the start.
There was some rumor that Jones could take the field, as he was active in practice this past week.
Zappe will face a top-scoring Browns offense, which is among the best in the league in average points per game (26.6). The rookie will have to contend with pressure from Browns star edge rusher Myles Garrett, though he looked poised in the pocket in last week's win against the Detroit Lions. He completed 17-of-21 for 188 yards and a touchdown in that game.
