BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Titans are coming to Foxborough for a showdown Saturday night, and WBZ NewsRadio's Adam Kaufman and Boston Globe NFL reporter Ben Volin are back with a Wild Card round edition of the Red Zone Report.
Tennessee's been playing better than New England the last few months, though neither team finished their season strong. The Patriots could have locked up a bye week, and didn't, while the Titans could have won their division, but didn't. How does Volin feel going into this Wild Card match-up?
"My feeling is that the Patriots got a pretty tough draw, and of the three potential teams they could have faced—Buffalo, Houston, and Tennessee—Tennessee's probably the hardest challenge," Volin said. "The Patriots have really had problems the last couple of years with facing their former Patriot coaches, or ex-Patriots. Matt Patricia blew them out last year, Mike Vrabel and the Titans blew them out down in Nashville. We just saw this year Bill O'Brien beat them finally, and Brian Flores pulled off the big upset. These teams with the ex-Patriots, they know all the Patriots' little tricks, they know exactly what Belichick and Brady are up to, what they like to accomplish, how to effectively take them out."
Kaufman and Volin also talk about the fallout from the videotaping of the Bengals' sideline, the possibility Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels will leave in the offseason, Ryan Tannehill's lack of playoff experience, Titans vs. Pats defensive units, and whether or not this will be Tom Brady's final game in Foxborough as a member of the Patriots.
