PEABODY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — It will soon be play time for a new children's museum in Peabody. The North Shore Children's Museum is set to open at 10 Main Street on Saturday, and will feature 14 exhibits to fascinate young children ages 2-10.
That includes a STEM room, an outer space room, and a doctor room — to name a few.
Museum Executive Director Ali Haydock said each room has an interactive piece that lets kids learn through their play.
For the STEM room, that means a giant Lite-Brite and a fan that blows scarves everywhere.
It took all hands to make the museum happen. "Businesses, foundations...It's been a real community effort to pull together this space," Haydock said. She said Peabody Mayor Edward Bettencourt was also important in making the project a reality. The space was once home to a bank before being converted into its current self.
Admission is $12, and the Children's Museum opens at 9:00 AM on Saturday.
