BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — TSA officials confiscated a covert firearm at Logan International Airport this past weekend.

On Saturday afternoon, the TSA's New England branch tweeted that someone tried to bring a Braverman Stinger, a .22 caliber single-shot foldable pistol, through security.

The Braverman Stinger is otherwise known as a pen gun due to its physical similarity to a ballpoint pen. Pen guns are not legal in Massachusetts due to falling outside the General Law’s legal definition of a firearm which excludes "covert weapons that resemble key-chains, pens, cigarette-lighters or cigarette packages."

It is not known if the person trying to bring the gun through Logan security was arrested.

According to the TSA, this was the 17th firearm confiscated at Logan Airport this year.
