Pepperell Police Investigating Suspicious Man Who Approached Kids In Van

PEPPERELL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police in Pepperell are investigating a report that a suspicious man in a white van approached three children to offer them a ride.

The department said the man approached the children around 5 p.m. on Leighton Street near the Rite Aid, and the children refused.

They said the man came back a second time to offer them a ride, and they refused again. After they got home and told their parents, they called police.

Police said the children reported the white van had windows or doors on the side, windows on the rear door, massachusetts plates, and a square, blue company logo, similar to a maze, with blue writing beneath it.

The man was described as white, in his 20s, with stubble. The children said he was wearing a hat with the same blue logo from the van.

"We are actively investigating this incident," Pepperell Police Chief David Scott said in a release. "If anyone in the Leighton St. area with an outdoor camera may have captured footage of the incident, we request that they call the Pepperell Police Department. We encourage anyone with possible information regarding this matter to be in touch."
