Student Stabbed At Lynn Classical High School, Suspect Arrested

LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Lynn city officials say a 16-year-old student was stabbed at Lynn Classical High School on Wednesday morning.

Mayor Jared Nicholson said the victim is expected to recover. Lynn Police say the student was stabbed in the back by another.

Police have arrested a 17-year-old male student, and charged him with Assault to Murder and carrying a dangerous weapon at school.

The Lynn Fire Department told WBZ NewsRadio that the student had been taken to Salem Hospital. They got a call for the stabbing at about 10:05 a.m.

"We share our sympathies for the victim and his family and hope for a speedy recovery," a release from the mayor said.

City officials said the school entered a lockdown after the stabbing.

Multiple reports said students were being dismissed early and picked up by their parents.
