Pipe Bombs, Bomb-Making Materials Found At Holyoke Home

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Holyoke man is facing multiple charges after authorities discovered pipe bombs and bomb-making materials at his home on Tuesday.

Holyoke Police obtained a search warrant for 19 Pleasant Street Tuesday afternoon, where they found pipe bombs and bomb-making related materials in the garage.

The occupant of the home, 29-year-old Gregory Bennett, was arrested and charged with four counts of possession of an explosive device. He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Holyoke District Court.

The house is owned by Bennett's father, former Holyoke Police Sgt. Gary Bennett, and Holyoke Police initially received a call about the suspected bombs from the resident's brother, according to The Republican.

The state Department of Fire Services said there is an ongoing joint investigation into the incident.
