Plainville Murder Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man, accused of stabbing his mother to death in Plainville, has been ordered held without bail.

Sean Murphy, 21, was arraigned in Wrentham District Court on Friday, where he pleaded not guilty to murdering his mother, according to WBZ-TV.

Carlyn Murphy, 51, was found dead in a Plainville home on Landau Road shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday night with apparent stab wounds, according to police.

Sean Murphy was later arrested at Patriot Place in Foxborough.

“While residents of the neighborhood and the town of Plainville may feel shocked by this incident, police do not believe that there is any ongoing threat or danger,” police said in a statement.
