Plane Shot While Landing At Gardner Airport, Bullet Hits Fuel Tank

GARDNER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — On Monday afternoon, a plane landing at Gardner Municipal Airport was shot in the fuel tank.

Employees at Gardner Airport tell WBZ NewsRadio that the bullet was found in the fuel tank of the Cessna 172M after touching down. Mechanics drained the plane's fuel tank to reveal a bullet lodged there, officials said. No injuries were reported, officials said.

According to the airport, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, in addition to local and state police were on scene investigating the incident. Airport employees said there did not seem to be a suspect at the time of the incident.
