PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Plymouth-based business has entered the animal-walking world with some unorthodox pets in tow.
Goat Walks Plymouth was founded by the Telford Family after years of their daughter Bailee begging to have goats.
“After a few years of my daughter making a couple PowerPoint presentations at the age of 9, my husband actually disclosed that he always wanted goats as a kid too,” Amber Telford said.
They started this goat-walking side hustle shortly after getting their four Nigerian Dwarf goats Bubba, Rex, Nellie and Stacy, allowing people to rent out the goats out in nature or even downtown. They got the goats during the COVID-19 pandemic. Telford said that their community has responded very positively to these new four-legged neighbors.
“In off-peak times late in the evening, if they aren't a lot of people around or in the mornings or on weekdays, we might dip into the downtown area because it puts a smile on people’s faces,” Telford said.

Nigerian Dwarf goats remain quite small for their entire lives, with a weight of 65-85 lbs. and a height between 17-20 in. tall.
“We’ve had people start crying when they see goats, they can’t believe what they’re seeing,” she said. “They’re still pretty exotic to some people, I think.”
