PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — One man is dead and several others are injured after a serious fire in Plymouth Thursday morning. Plymouth Fire got the call at about 5:20 a.m. at 41 Post N Rail Ave.

Plymouth Police said one man died, and a woman was critically injured and rushed to the hospital. A third person has lesser injuries, but was still taken to a hospital. Two firefighters were also hurt.

Two residents were able to get out of the house unscathed. The State Fire Marshal says working fire alarms let some of the residents escape and "prevented an even greater loss of life."

The Fire Marshall's office says the fire doesn't appear to be suspicious.
