PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The town of Plymouth held its annual Thanksgiving parade, kicking off the weekend celebration Saturday.
The parade has also been referred to as "America's only historically accurate chronological parade." This year there were 19 floats.
Performances and events will continue throughout the weekend with live music even a candle-lighting ceremony.
Next year marks the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower's voyage. The event will be celebrated will be a "four-nation commemoration" with the organizing group Mayflower 400 in Plymouth, Mayflower 400 in the UK, Leiden 2020 in the Netherlands, and the Wampanoag Nation (including the Aquinnah and Mashpee tribes).
