PLYMOUTH , Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A building that used to be a seaside restaurant in Plymouth is now covered in graffiti with broken windows and wood frames that are barely holding on.
Bert’s Landing closed 12 years ago. Some Plymouth residents want to see the worn-down building along Long Beach gone.
A resident told WBZ NewsRadio that “it’s an eyesore,” and the community has been complaining about the building for a long time to no avail.
The Select Board sent an order to the owners of the dilapidated building to demolish it within 60 days, citing code violations and unsafe structures, according to the Plymouth Independent.
Jason, a longtime Plymouth resident, added that “it’s clearly a plight” to the otherwise picturesque coastal community.
“It’s kind of a neat place to live and so it’s sad to see things like this happen,” he added.
