PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Legal hangups pushed back demolition of former Bert’s Landing seafood restaurant along Long Beach in Plymouth.
The town’s select board voted earlier this summer to have the owner of the dilapidated property demolish the building within 60 days, citing code violations and unsafe structures, the Plymouth Independent reported.
However, that deadline is overdue and the structure is still up, just with added fencing to keep trespassers out.

Residents of the neighborhood said they are tired of seeing the eyesore.
“The building’s just falling down,” Jason, a long time Plymouth resident, told WBZ NewsRadio. “It’s clearly a blight to the neighborhood. It’s kind of a neat place to live so it’s sad to see things like this happen.”
Another resident added that the falling structure covered in graffiti and broke windows is a safety hazard to others.
Town officials said they hope to set a demolition date before the end of the year.
