PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Residents in Plymouth voted not to ban miniature bottles of alcohol, also known as nips, during a special election Saturday.
The vote was close: 3,682 people voted to keep the little bottles, while 3,517 voted to ban them.
Plymouth initially approved the ban at a town meeting in October, but a package store owner objected, saying the ban could cost him 15 to 40% of his business.
Opponents of the ban collected enough signatures from registered voters to get the issue placed on the ballot.
