PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Jonathan Fox of Plymouth checked off a bucket list item after competing on Tuesday’s episode of Jeopardy!, the long-running trivia show.
As a self-proclaimed “Jeopardy! junky,” Fox told WBZ NewsRadio’s Jim MacKay that this has been a life-time in the making.
“When I was a teenager, I’d run home from school [because the show] was on at four o’clock locally,” he said. “I guess, for better or for worse, I have a space in my head for all sorts of random facts."
Even now, he said that he and his wife are big fans of trivia nights at local pubs and breweries.
When his once-elusive dream became a reality, Fox said he needed to pinch myself to make sure it’s all real.
“The whole experience one you get on stage is exhilarating; it’s a little overwhelming," he said.
He credited the staff and crew, including host Ken Jennings, of the show for guiding him through the filming process.
”[The staff] really took any anxiety about being there away,” he said, adding that he was still able to see the legacy of the late Alex Trebek.
“He’s still everywhere,” Fox said. “He’s still spoken of such reverent terms in that studio.”
Fox’s Jeopardy! episode will air Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
