Police: Ayer Resident's Vehicle Stuck On Railroad Tracks

AYER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A vehicle was reported to have been stuck on railroad tracks around midnight in Ayer on Wednesday, according to the Ayer Police Department.

The incident occurred near the Sandy Pond railroad crossing. The vehicle was driven by a 42-year-old Ayer resident. The individual was not injured, according to the Ayer Police Department.

The driver of the vehicle said they accidentally turned onto the tracks while following a GPS device. After being unable to back up the vehicle, the driver attempted to drive along the tracks to find another crossing, according to the Ayer Police Department.

A tow truck removed the vehicle from the tracks. The incident is currently under investigation.
