MANCHESTER, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Manchester, N.H. Police have identified the man who died during an hours-long standoff last week as 41-year-old Benjamin Bennett, of Manchester, N.H.
On Wednesday, May 26, U.S. Marshals responded to reports of shots fired inside a home on Union Street around 7:45 a.m.
Authorities surrounded the home, residents were told to shelter in place, and surrounding roads were shut down.

Crisis negotiators talked with a man inside the home for several hours before losing contact with him. The man was later found dead in the basement.
The cause of death is under investigation, however authorities said he appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
