Police Investigating After A Bicyclist Is Struck And Killed In Westford

WESTFORD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Authorities are investigating after a bicyclist was struck and killed Tuesday evening in Westford.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office said cyclist was hit by a car shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Groton Road/Route 40 near North Street.

The driver of a Cadillac sedan was traveling westbound when he allegedly hit the cyclist who was going in the opposite direction.

The cyclist, who was a 62-year-old man, was taken to Lowell General Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the car remained on the scene and no charges have been filed at this time.
