GILFORD, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol is investigating a boating accident that happened near Lockes Island on Lake Winnipesaukee late Friday night.

Police say Robert Koning of Carlisle, Mass. was operating a powerboat at about 11:30 p.m. when he hit a moored boat near the shoreline. He then wound up completely out of the water, and stuck on top of a rock breakwater.

Koning, and a passenger on the boat, were not hurt.

So far, police have not released any information about charges in the case, but they do say the investigation is active, and are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the state’s Marine Patrol.
