Police Investigating After Teen Is Shot And Killed In Stoughton

STOUGHTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police in Stoughton are investigating after a teenager was shot and killed near an apartment complex on Jones Terraces Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, witnesses say two men running away from the scene toward Walnut Street. Authorities were unable to find the suspects.

The victim has been identified as 17-year-old Christian Vines, of Randolph. Officers found him inside of a parked car, suffering from a gunshot wound. Vines was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Police say it's not clear why Vines was at the apartment complex since he had no obvious connection to it. They are currently investigating why he was there.

Authorities believe the shooting to be a targeted incident.
