MELROSE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man died after he was stabbed in an altercation in a home in Melrose Friday, authorities said.
According to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Melrose Chief of Police Kevin Faller, a Lodge Street resident called 911 to report a disturbance around 7:05 p.m. Upon arrival, police found an unresponsive man with apparent stab wounds.
Officials said the victim, James Percent, 47, of Melrose, was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation suggests a domestic altercation occurred in the home between Percent and a woman, officials said. At some point during the altercation, a 21-year-old man who also lives in the home became involved. Both men suffered stab wounds and the 21-year-old was hospitalized for his injuries, said officials.
