ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Attleboro Police are searching for a man accused of robbing a gas station with a gun early Thursday morning.
Police said the robbery occurred at around 12:20 a.m. at Mobil Gas Station on Newport Avenue in South Attleboro.
The clerk told police that a masked man entered the store, wielding a black handgun, and demanding the clerk hand over the contents of the cash register.
The clerk complied with the suspect's demands and gave him an undisclosed amount of money from the register, police said.
The suspect then left the store and got into the passenger side of a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota, which was last seen fleeing westbound on Collins Street towards Washington Street, police said.
Officials described the man as short in stature, wearing a black North Face puffy jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, and wearing a white mask and dark colored gloves.
The brandished weapon was a dark colored semiautomatic handgun, police said.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call the Attleboro Police Department at 508-222-1212.
