Police Investigating Fatal Crash On I-495 In Milford

MILDFORD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – One person is dead and another injured after a truck crashed near Exit 50 on I-495 in Milford.

The operator of the truck was a 24-year-old Taunton man, and his passenger is a 20-year-old Berkley woman.

State troopers first responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash at around 11:30 Thursday night.

When they arrived, they found a truck partially hanging off the edge of the bridge over Route 16. The truck also leaked fluid onto the roadway.

Preliminary investigation of the crash indicated that the Freightliner truck was going northbound on I-495 when it veered off the road.

The truck reportedly hit the median guardrail and rode up and over it, eventually stopping about halfway off the bridge.

The male driver was taken to Milford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The passenger was taken to the same hospital and was suffering from minor injuries.

The investigation of the crash is still ongoing.
